Well this is exciting - as of 6th May 2019, “Swallow Sculpture Shed” became “Swallow Shed”. This is due to gradual diversification since the start of my sculpture business in 2012.
In 2014 I started throwing pots in white earthenware clay. After a bit of a pause, while I saved up for a small wheel, I continued with this and then really started experimenting with glazes and also got into some hand building. This also meant I could offer wheel hire and kiln hire and even studio hire (with or without tuition.)
Then last year I began teaching myself appliqué on some beautiful Harris Tweed to create some Swallow themed cushions.
Also last year, I was commissioned to do a painting and realised that I was missing my old hobby, so all in all it really isn’t appropriate to refer to my studio as a “sculpture” studio any more.
The Swallow is a constant though - I do love swallows.
